About the DirectorsPaul DeMeritt
During his ten years at Faith Christian Paul has produced a dynamic, award-winning and regionally acclaimed company of young actors whose credits range from Shakespeare to high comedy, from Broadway musical to rip-roaring gunfight, and from street theatre to melodrama! The FCS Players have received over 40 prestigious "Elly" nominations from the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance, and have won 8 "Elly's." The FCS Players have just completed their Gala 10th Anniversary Season, and were blessed with the privilege of being selected to be among the first high schools in the nation to present "the world's favorite Broadway musical" -- Les Miserables -- in a special limited release format in May 2003. The FCS Players 10th Anniversary Season has garnered an additional 5 "Elly" nominations from SARTA, including one for Best Production in Educational Theatre. Staci Johnson
Staci is also the Director of the Miss Yuba-Sutter Scholarship Competition at the Yuba-Sutter Fair and held the title herself in 1995. In 1996 she became the first Miss Yuba-Sutter to be crowned Miss California State. Staci is also well known for her on-stage performances. Some of her most memorable local roles include Maria in The Sound of Music, Hedy LaRue in How To Succeed in Business, Portia in The Merchant of Venice, Olivia in Twelfth Night, Antigone in Antigone, and Shelby in Steel Magnolias. She is Secretary of The Acting Company Board of Directors and is currently a part-time instructor of Television Production classes at Yuba Community College. Staci received her B.A. in Television Production from San Francisco State and her M.A. in Communication Studies at UC Davis.
